The Little Shutterbugs Curriculum 2024 offers an immersive and hands-on exploration of photography for young enthusiasts. With a balanced mix of theory, practical application, and collaborative projects, students will embark on a week-long journey, culminating in a showcase that celebrates their technical skills, artistic growth, and unique perspectives.
Day 1: Introduction to Photography | Exploring Camera Settings
- What is photography?
- The different types of cameras
- Introduction to the Fujifilm Instax camera
- Basic camera parts and their functions
- Introduction to camera settings on the Fujifilm Instax camera
- Using flash effectively
- Experimenting with different shooting modes (close up and regular mode)
Day 2: Understanding Light and Composition
- The role of light in photography
- Natural light vs. artificial light
- Composing a photograph
- Rule of thirds
- Framing and leading lines
Day 3: Exploring Subjects and Perspectives
- Photographing people
- Capturing landscapes and nature
- Macro photography (close-up shots)
- Creative angles and perspectives
Day 4: Photo Walk and Hands-on Practice
- Organize a photo walk in a nearby area
- Encourage kids to apply the concepts learned in class
- Provide guidance and feedback on their photos
Day 5: Sharing and Critique Session | Final Presentation and Exhibition
- Showcase and discuss the students’ best photos
- Encourage peer feedback and constructive critique
- Discuss the strengths and areas for improvement in each photo
- Assign a photography project to each student
- Each student presents their photography project to the class
